Having 3D printing as a hobby requires a lot of small tools at hand. Sometimes it is even possible to save a print while the printer is working, if your tools are easily accessable.
So instead of just letting the tools clutter up my table, I decided to print an organiser.
I found one on thingiverse I liked. A half steampunk cog mounted on the wall. Find it here
This is back in jan 2018 where I had just purchased a new larger printer ( Ender-4 ). Furthermore, it is the first time I had done anything to a print..
After the print was done, I gave it filler spray and sanded it down
To make it more steampunk-ish, I made the base color copper.
Then I shelved the project for a couple of months, end just went on printing stuff without finishing them.
I then decided just to give it a clear coat and start using it.
Overall I am happy with the result. the paint job didn’t turn out to be very steampunk, but it was my first painted 3D printed thing.
